Design system

The design system at Canopy was a side project. We didn’t have one, but we needed one, so I built one. It followed the atomic design methodology of atoms, molecules, organisms, templates, and pages, but we also had contents, brand, imagery, and documentation sections, as well as Apple, Google, and Microsoft components. This design system evolved throughout the project, and whenever screens were marked as ready to build, the engineers could reference all of the component parts in the design system.

We had to identify all of the different people involved at each stage, their jobs to be done, and then surface and visualise all of the different types of data available, so that improvements and efficiencies could be made.
